360° VR Space Safari
Join our experienced team of astronauts on a virtual space mission. Together you will go on an awe-inspiring experience as you travel through space and see our home like never before, in all its fragile beauty.
Choose your astronaut
When travelling through space, astronauts often experience a phenomenon known as the
“overview effect”. It’s the special moment when they first see planet Earth, as a vulnerable dot
floating through the universe and needing our protection.
Different astronauts have different experiences.
Choose your astronaut to start your mission.

It’s not this safe cocoon, man. We’re out here spinning in all this chaos. The Earth is a planet. The Earth is a spaceship, and we’re all space travelers.

When I saw Earth from space, I appreciated so much more than before the interconnectedness of everything and everyone on this tiny, fragile and precious planet. Despite our differences, we are all in the same boat, affecting each other and facing the same huge challenge to protect our planet Earth.

“I have seen Earth from space. At a distance the Earth looks like a spaceship that travels through the universe with billions of people onboard – and it’s a spaceship without lifeboats. That has made an impression. We must take care of our planet, because we only have one.

German physicist and cosmonaut visiting space station Mir.

The view of Earth from outer space has made me understand what ‘global’ means. In 90 minutes we fly around the world and see that everything is connected: the continents, the oceans. What we do on one side of the earth has an impact on the other.

Our transformation story to yours
Over the past ten years, Ørsted has gone from a fossil fuel company to become the world’s most sustainable energy company. We have reduced our carbon emissions by 83% - faster than required by science to limit global warming to 1.5 °C. By 2025 we will be virtually emissions free. It has not been easy to change, but it was necessary. We want to share our optimism that it is possible to make even the biggest of changes, in only a decade.
Space Safari project
We can’t send all of Earth’s citizens into space, but with 360o VR Space Safari we can get you as close as possible. Ørsted has teamed up with American and European astronauts to send you on a virtual space mission. We believe that if more people could see the world like astronauts do, it would create a greater sense of responsibility for our shared home and speed up green action.
