Ørsted is the global leader in offshore wind power and is one of the largest renewable energy companies in the world.  

Within a decade, we transformed from being one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive utilities to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world. Today, we’re guided by a clear vision: to create a world that runs entirely on green energy. 

We provide countries, companies, and communities with sustainable, reliable, and cost-competitive energy solutions, including offshore and onshore wind, solar, renewable hydrogen and green fuels, and energy storage. We own or operate over 15 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity and by 2030, we aim to grow this to 35-38 gigawatts.

Join a global green energy leader


Our story began in Denmark, but today we operate across Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific in countries including the UK, Taiwan, the US, the Netherlands, and Germany. We built the world’s first offshore wind farm in 1991 and we were at the heart of pioneering efforts to make offshore wind cheaper than fossil fuels. We continue to lead the way in offshore wind, building the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Asia-Pacific’s largest, and New York’s first.  

Over the last decade, we’ve expanded significantly into other renewable technologies such as onshore wind, solar, and renewable hydrogen and green fuels, ensuring that we can provide the full spectrum of solutions required for a renewable energy future.

An energy transformation that creates value for all



The buildout of renewable energy in line with the global target of tripling renewables by 2030 will be the biggest infrastructure project in human history. To build at such enormous pace and scale, we must ensure that renewable energy benefits everyone, from consumers and investors to suppliers, local communities, and indigenous landowners. It’s also vital that we build in harmony with the natural world on which we all depend.

That’s why we work to preserve and restore ecosystems, limit the need for emissions-intensive resources, and respect human rights across supply chains. We believe that renewable energy is an investment in the future and must be sustainable from every perspective: human, environmental, and financial. We need to build green energy right now – and if we want to build it now, we need to build it right. 

We’re recognised by organisations such as CDP, the Science Based Targets Initiative, and Corporate Knights as a global sustainability leader.
