In this environment, Trading & Revenue (T&R) plays a key role in protecting value, creating new opportunities, and supporting the global transition to renewable energy.

The T&R team manages risk and revenue across the full life cycle of our diverse portfolio – from contracts for difference (CfDs) and post-subsidy assets to gas trading activities and various storage sites. By hedging against price fluctuations and participating in power, gas, capacity, and ancillary markets, we stabilise revenues and strengthen long-term value creation for Ørsted and our partners.

We use our portfolio management strengths to understand complex revenue dynamics and make better, more balanced decisions that maximise long-term value. We invest in flexibility through solutions such as battery-based energy storage and gas storage facilities. And we scale digital, AI, and algorithmic systems to act with speed and precision in intraday, day-ahead, and forward markets.

Market opportunities for Ørsted customers

Beyond managing the Ørsted portfolio, we also help customers and other partners manage their exposure. We bring renewable energy directly to businesses through long-term corporate power purchase agreements (CPPAs) and green gas certificates. We identify new opportunities for creating value across energy markets, and we work with our joint venture partners to optimise jointly owned assets and provide services tailored to their risk appetite.
