Wondering where our name comes from?

Our name is inspired by the scientist Hans Christian Ørsted who discovered electromagnetism – the foundation for how we produce energy today.

We’re recognised on the CDP Climate Change A List as a global leader on climate action and were the first energy company in the world to have its science-based net-zero emissions target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Our financial outlook

Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted’s shares are listed on Nasdaq Copenhagen (Orsted). We plan to invest a total of DKK 145 billion from 2025 to 2027.

Installed Capacity for the group means renewable capacity accumulated over time for which commercial operation date (COD) has been achieved, and where the group has or has had an ownership share and an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) role in the project, disregarding whether such capacity has subsequently been di-vested, in full or in part. Notwithstanding the foregoing conditions are not fulfilled, renewable capacities from acquisitions are also added to the installed capacity.   


Capacity under Construction for the group means renewable capacity under construction where a final investment decision (FID) has been made and where the group has or has had an ownership share and an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) role in the project, disregarding whether such capacity was originally or has subsequently been divested, in full or in part.
