In only a decade, Ørsted transformed from one of Europe’s most fossil fuel-intensive energy companies to being ranked as one of the most sustainable energy companies in the world.

Our ambition is to reach 35-38 gigawatts (GW) installed renewable energy capacity by 2030.

Wondering where our name comes from?

Our name is inspired by the scientist Hans Christian Ørsted who discovered electromagnetism – the foundation for how we produce energy today.

Our sustainability ambitions are industry leading

We’re recognised on the CDP Climate Change A List as a global leader on climate action and were the first energy company in the world to have its science-based net-zero emissions target validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

Our financial outlook

Headquartered in Denmark, Ørsted’s shares are listed on Nasdaq Copenhagen (Orsted). In 2023, the group EBITDA was DKK 24 bn.

We plan to invest a total of DKK 270 billion from 2024 to 2030, primarily focusing on offshore (70 %), followed by onshore (25 %), and finally P2X and Bioenergy (5 %).
