Senior Chemistry Specialist

Join us in this role where you’ll play a major role in supporting our power stations as well as other internal stakeholders, such as the Fuel Department, through knowledge buildup, optimisation projects, and operation support. Your primary technical focus areas include fuel chemistry, additives, deposit formation, and ash chemistry.

Welcome to Plant Technology in Bioenergy
You’ll be part of the Chemistry Department where you, together with your colleagues, will work in a team of highly skilled chemistry specialists responsible for activities within fuel chemistry, additives, ash chemistry, carbon capture, flue gas cleaning, emissions, water and steam chemistry, lube oils, and biomass fire safety. We’re a team of 10 dedicated specialists who are passionate about process chemistry challenges. As a team, we embrace learning opportunities and knowledge sharing through task execution.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • executing tasks within fuel chemistry, handling of fuels incl. storage and sampling, additives, deposit formation and combustion processes, ash chemistry and utilisation of mineral products
  • contributing to technology development in the process chemical area, with a focus on development of new methods and process improvement initiatives as well as collaboration with e.g., universities
  • contributing to medium-long term problem solving and optimisation within the chemical area in the form of project work/management, plant status reviews, etc
  • preparing technical specifications for processes, equipment, fuels and participation in the evaluation and QA/QC of the technical solutions offered by suppliers.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a master or Ph.D. degree within chemical engineering or chemistry
  • have experience with the tasks as addressed above, especially within the area of fuel, additive, ash chemistry
  • have a proactive and systematic approach to troubleshooting
  • possess strong communication skills with regards to complex problems and solutions to stakeholders as well as stakeholders with a distinct different professional background
  • thrive in a strong professional environment, where active knowledge sharing and creation and maintenance of good relationships with your business partners is of high importance
  • are both able to work independently and be a strong team player.
