Strategy and business development

Environment Manager

Imagine a future where you are able to work across a diverse range of UK renewables projects to support environmental and consent related applications.

Join us in this role where you’ll work effectively as part of a high-performing team, gaining environmental and/or planning-based consents, permits and other deliverables to support project requirements. You will take responsibility for a particular element of project requirements, collaborating closely with your Environment & Consents team, wider Ørsted colleagues, and external stakeholders as required. You will manage own your own workload, knowing when to proactively solve issues and when to escalate risks. Additionally, you’ll support processes to deliver best practice consents and apply key lessons learned.

Welcome to Environment and Consents
You’ll be part of the UK Environment & Consents team where you, together with your colleagues, will work to support and deliver a range of consents and environmental deliverables across a diverse portfolio of projects. Our team of nearly 50 colleagues come from a range of backgrounds including the public sector, consultancies and other infrastructure projects. We have active projects off the coast of England, Scotland, Republic of Ireland and the Isle of Man. As a team, we prioritise our people. We actively support your development and encourage working across our portfolio, sharing lessons learned and best practice openly with your colleagues.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • the delivery of key environmental consents and permits to ensure we keep pace with a dynamic construction programme across our offshore project portfolio
  • participating in a range of technical, environmental, regulatory or stakeholder focussed meetings
  • liaising with internal and external colleagues (e.g. consultants/contractors)
  • reviewing and developing environmental/consent documents (e.g. EIA chapters)
  • reviewing and raising project risks and supporting colleagues with their workstreams.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • will have a bachelor's degree, or equivalent experience, ideally with an environmental management or similar science-based focus
  • can work independently as well as part of a team and demonstrate the ability to lead on a specialist topic area when supported
  • can effectively communicate with a wide group of stakeholders, build good relationships, and explain technically complex issues in a clear manner
  • can deliver on time and to budget whilst managing the potentially competing demands of project priorities and stakeholder advice.

Maybe you’ve read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don’t quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
