HSE Supervisor Onshore Germany

Join us in this role where you’ll support our business with HSE coordination responsibilities for all construction projects. You’ll focus on implementing our HSE risk management system aspects, incl. conducting supplier competency assessments, risk assessments, method statements, and audits & inspections and providing training, participating in event/incident investigations and reporting, and supporting the QHSE department in delivering business function workstreams.

This role offers the opportunity to be part of Ørsted Onshore Germany, formerly known as Ostwind.
You’ll be part of QHSE Europe where you, together with your colleagues, will contribute to our dynamic and strong regional QHSE team with colleagues across the UK, Denmark, Germany, Poland, Sweden, and The Netherlands. You’ll play an important role in:

  • liaising with the various departments within the business to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation and with best industry practice
  • providing HSE advice to project managers and works owners during the development and construction phases of projects
  • developing and maintaining HSE documentation such as work procedures, training records, EPR, campaign material, KPIs, reports, presentations, etc.
  • providing input to contractor plans and documentation and verifying correct implementation of plans on site focusing on competence and compliance
  • conducting independent inspections, emergency, and rescue drills, supporting the roll-out of campaigns and training initiatives
  • providing technical knowledge and expertise in HSE to all levels throughout the Onshore Germany organisation.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • demonstrate good understanding of local HSE and construction legislation
  • have a completed degree in health and safety or engineering and significant post-graduate work experience in the field of health and safety, preferably with good working knowledge of the wind and solar industries, construction, and wind/solar farm operations
  • have good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic systems, and civil works and are aware of associated high risks
  • have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with internal and external stakeholders on all levels
  • have experience in conducting inspections, site walk-downs, trainings, interventions, internal project audits, etc.
  • are aware of and understand behavioural based safety systems, HSE culture, and best industry practices.

Please note that you’re expected to do regular travelling in relation to your work, as you’ll need to be present regularly on our onshore renewable construction sites in Germany and occasionally visit our offices in Denmark and Ireland.
