DTPBBE Ltd is the licensee entity incorporated by the consortium comprising of Mitsubishi Corporation and HICL Infrastructure Company Limited.
The transmission assets hold an asset value of GBP193.9m. The assets include the onshore substation, export cables and the offshore substation.
The divestment takes place in accordance with the Offshore Transmission Owner (“OFTO”) regime. In July 2017, following a competitive tender, Ofgem selected DTPBBE Ltd as preferred bidder for the Burbo Bank Extension offshore transmission license.
The Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farm is located in the Bay of Liverpool, approximately 7km from Liverpool. The wind farm’s 32 MHI Vestas 8MW wind turbines have a capacity of 258MW and can produce clean renewable energy for approximately 230,000 UK households each year.
