A whale sighted between the wind turbines
The other day, at the offshore wind farm Westermost Rough, we caught sight of this minke whale heading for the wind farm.
The minke whale which is a species of the baleen whales can reach 10 meters in length and weigh up to 10 tonnes. Here, it is heading for the Westermost Rough Offshore Wind Farm located off the British east coast.
Westermost Rough is the first offshore wind farm constructed with Siemens 6MW wind turbines. It is owned by DONG Energy (50 %), Marubeni (25 %) and the UK Green Investment Bank (25 % ).
