'Leader for a day' is divided into two phases:
Phase 1:

In the future, companies will look for leaders who, above all, are human. Leaders who can ensure that employees thrive, that they are able to collaborate, and who can synergise human interests. DONG Energy has entered into a partnership with 'Leader for a day' to contribute to developing the leaders of the future.
Together, the two parties have developed an exclusive leadership development programme targeted at 30 hand-picked university students. The students will gain insight into leadership competences and be taught by leadership experts from DONG Energy.
Tomorrow's labour market
"Tomorrow's labour market is different from the one we know today, and our working life will undergo fundamental change. We're already seeing to a much greater extent than before how the next generation on the labour market is looking for companies with a 'purpose' – or to put it more simply: Meaningful work. Both to society and to the individual," says Hanne Blume, Chief Human Resources Officer in DONG Energy.
This is why the partnership is an obvious choice for DONG Energy, as the company is working on developing and promoting a sustainable working life. Leadership is just one of the many areas in focus.
"We believe that good leadership is not just about generating good results, but also about how they are created," says Hanne Blume.
Testing leadership skills in practice
In addition to lectures on leadership, 'Leader for a day' provides the students with the opportunity to test their skills in practice. This takes place at Farum Arena on 6 March where the students will be managing a volleyball team during a tournament.
"The students will use the competences they gain during the first days of the programme to develop the players and realise their potential. This includes one-to-one leadership, coaching as a leadership approach as well as understanding that different types of personality require different approaches and handling this. It's a process that truly gives the students the opportunity to test themselves in practice," says Mogens Brolin, who is the force behind 'Leader for a day'.
