HV Senior Specialist
Imagine a future where you lead the safe operation and maintenance of high-voltage systems that power our offshore wind farms and support the UK’s energy transition.

Join us in this role where you’ll be responsible for the safe operation, maintenance, and optimisation of HV and LV assets across our UK offshore wind portfolio. You’ll ensure compliance with Ørsted Electrical Safety Rules (ØESR), coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to continuous improvement in asset performance and reliability.
Welcome to HV & Transmission Systems
You’ll be part of the OFTO / HV team where you, together with your colleagues, will manage the operational safety, switching, and maintenance of HV and LV infrastructure, including substations, cables, and switchgear. You’ll collaborate closely with the HV Manager (Nearshore), OFTO partners, and site teams to ensure safe and efficient operations.

You’ll play an important role in:
- operate and maintain HV/LV networks safely, including switching, isolation, and issuing safety documents
- coordinate daily HV/LV operations, including planning, reporting, and supervising maintenance activities
- manage and improve maintenance programmes, including cost optimisation, performance reviews, and statutory inspections
- liaise with OFTO, National Grid, and internal stakeholders to ensure compliance and operational excellence
- support fault analysis, root cause investigations, and lessons learned documentation
- deliver ØESR training and maintain competence in line with Ørsted’s standards.
To succeed in the role, you:
- are a Senior Authorised Person up to 66kV or 400kV, or have equivalent experience
- ideally hold a degree in electrical/electronic engineering or have experience in DNO, power plant, or oil & gas sectors
- have electrical engineering experience in a relevant industry, including maintenance planning and execution
- hold a full driving licence and are flexible with working patterns, including on-call duties
- have strong planning, reporting, and communication skills
- are physically fit and comfortable working at height and offshore.
