Our floating offshore wind projects

Where we’re building

As the global leader in offshore wind, we’re enthusiastic about expanding into floating turbine foundations.

    Project Salamander

    Status
    : In development
    Overall capacity: 100 MW
Wind turbine expected capacity: 15-20 MW
    Rotor diameter: > 200m
Location: Approx. 35 km off the coast of Peterhead, north-east Scotland
To enter commercial operation: before 2030
Partners: Simply Blue Energy and Subsea7

This project will serve as an industrial stepping stone to help build early capacity in the Scottish offshore wind supply chain, paving the way for utility-scale floating offshore wind projects in Scotland.

  • In Spain

We have partnered with Spanish energy provider Repsol to jointly become a leading developer of floating offshore wind in Spanish waters, combining our complementary strengths and expertise.

  • In Norway
In 2021, we formed a consortium with Norwegian developers Fred. Olsen Renewables and Hafslund Eco, to develop offshore wind projects – seabed-fixed and floating – in Norwegian waters, while also working to expand Norway’s strategic position within floating offshore wind.
  • In Korea
In 2021, we partnered with POSCO Group to develop offshore wind projects, some of which are likely to be floating given Korea’s excellent conditions for floating offshore wind.
