Installation of foundations completed at Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farm

All 32 foundations for DONG Energy's Burbo Bank Extension offshore wind farm in Liverpool Bay have been installed.

About Burbo Bank extension

The Burbo Bank extension is being developed by Burbo Bank Extension Ltd which is owned by DONG Energy Wind Power (50%), PKA (25%) and Kirkbi A/S (25%).
The foundation work was completed by contractor Van Oord using their heavy lift installation vessel 'Svanen'. 

Burbo Bank Extension will be the first large-scale wind farm to deploy the new MHI Vestas 8.0 MW turbine. When completed next year, Burbo Bank Extension will be able to supply enough CO2-free power meet the annual electricity needs of more than 230,000 UK homes.
