DONG Energy wins gas supply obligation on the island of Funen and in HMN Naturgas supply areas

DONG Energy has won the gas supply obligation on the island of Funen and in most of Jutland. This is the result of the recently published tender round.

About the supply obligation

The supply obligation stipulates that the natural gas companies have a duty to supply gas to the consumers who do not already have a supply agreement. For example, this could be newcomers, customers where the supplier has disconnected the supply because the customer is in arrears and customers whose supplier has gone bankrupt.

The price of supply obligation gas corresponds to the market price plus an additional fee. It is precisely this additional fee which was the focal point for the tender round.

DONG Energy has won the gas supply obligation on the island of Funen and in most of Jutland. This is the result of the recently published tender round.

Louise Hahn, Vice President of Sales B2C, said:

"We're delighted to have won the supply obligation on the basis of the lowest price offered, and we look forward to welcoming new customers."

The result of the tender round shows that DONG Energy has some of the most attractive gas prices in Denmark. Gas customers that do not choose their own gas supplier will therefore automatically become DONG Energy customers.

Hahn continued:

"I also hope that our low prices will create awareness among other gas customers than the supply obligation customers."

DONG Energy has won the gas supply obligation with a price of DKK 0.0424/m3 in addition to the gas market price, corresponding to DKK 64 per year for an average Danish household.
