By car:
There are plenty of places to park in the area surrounding the power station on Avedøre Holme. The entrance to the power station is via Vestporten (the West Gate) on Hammerholmen opposite Industriholmen.

By public transport:
Take the commuter train (S-tog) to Friheden Station, and hop on the free shuttle bus service offered by Avedøre Power Station. The buses will be running regularly between the power plant and the train station in the period 10:00–17:00.
The power station is generally a restricted area, open only to staff in full protective gear. However, to mark the 25th anniversary of Avedøre Power Station, DONG Energy has chosen to throw open the doors and invite the public inside.

Niels Christian Kjær, Power Station Manager at Avedøre, said: "We want to give everyone an idea of where the heat and power they use come from, and that is why we’re opening our doors to a day packed with interesting events for the entire family." Avedøre Power Station generates power for more than a million households and delivers district heating to around 215,000 homes.
