Torkil Bentzen, Executive Vice President of DONG Energy, stepping down at the end of the year

18.08.06 Torkil Bentzen, Executive Vice President of DONG Energy, stepping down at the end of the year Torkil Bentzen has elected to step down from his post as Executive Vice President of DONG Energy Renewables. Torkil Bentzen has played a major role in the bringing together of DONG, Nesa, Copenhagen Energy (electricity activities), Frederiksberg Forsyning, Elsam and Energi E2. Following the clearance by the competition authorities and the divestment of the activities to be transferred to the Swedish energy group Vattenfall, the six companies were brought together in DONG Energy on 1 July 2006. Torkil Bentzen has therefore found the time right to change direction and hand over the reins to a successor. Torkil Bentzen has been engaged within the energy sector since 1999, when, in his capacity as CEO of Sjællandske Kraftværker, he headed the merger between the energy companies that became Energi E2 in 2000 and will now be part of DONG Energy. Torkil Bentzen wishes to step down at the end of the year, and efforts to find a successor are therefore underway. Torkil Bentzen has agreed to stay on after the end of the year if a successor has not been found by that time.
