Customs & Logistics Specialist
Imagine a future where you play a key role in enabling sustainable, timely, compliant, and cost-efficient movement of materials across the UK, supporting Ørsted’s ambitious growth and operational excellence in renewable energy.

Join us in this role where you’ll serve as the central point of contact for all shipping activities related to both import and export operations in Generation. You’ll coordinate seamlessly across supply teams, local execution teams, and service providers to ensure on-time delivery, adherence to customs regulations, and optimal supply chain performance within a complex, matrixed environment. You’ll also help drive procurement value by balancing cost and performance, and contribute to the development of resilient, future-proof logistics and customs processes.

You’ll be part of the Transportation & Customs team, based in the UK East Coast hub, where you, together with your colleagues, will work on diverse projects spanning multiple regional hubs. Our team is dedicated to leveraging technology and collaboration to enhance our digital and physical logistics capabilities, drive compliance, and create efficiencies across our supply chain.

You’ll play an important role in:
arranging and tracking shipments, completing shipping and customs documentation, and booking transport for both import and export operations as required by UK regional hubs
engaging with freight forwarders, transporters, and UK customs authorities (HMRC) to ensure smooth and compliant movement of goods
supporting tactical procurement, coordinating with suppliers, and managing RFQs and purchase orders for freight and transport services
providing day-to-day logistics support, including resolving shipment delays, collaborating with warehouse coordinators, and communicating status updates to stakeholders
providing advice and technical support to Supply Managers, Sourcing Managers, and other business units on customs and logistics matters
actively participating in system and process improvements to increase shipment visibility and reporting quality.
To succeed in the role, you:
have strong technical and hands-on experience in logistics, transportation, and freight forwarding (experience in Automotive, Energy, FMCG, or freight forwarding environments is highly valued)
possess a strong commercial mindset as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to independently manage tasks and take ownership
exhibit outstanding communication skills and stakeholder management abilities, with the confidence to articulate technical issues to non-technical staff and influence business decisions
are comfortable with project management methodologies and working in a complex, matrixed organization
demonstrate curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and support multiple stakeholders
are a team player with a mindset focused on continuous improvement, growth, and collaboration.
