Senior Lead AI Engineer

You will join a team within Ørsted AI Ecosystem (ØAE) where you will lead your colleagues and be the beacon to the whole Orsted software development community, working with agentic software development.
As a team, our goal is to deliver speed without friction and be client focused. We build the tools and processes for the enterprise to develop secure and governed applications by providing guardrails.
This transformation is new to Orsted so even though you may not meet all the necessary criteria, don’t hesitate to apply if you are interested.
This position may be filled at either Lead or Senior Lead level, depending on the experience and capabilities of the successful candidate, with strong potential for advancement to Senior Lead.
You'll play an important role in:
- Creating and driving the software engineering roadmap and strategy towards agentic software development
- Leading the OAE software development team by combining strong technical leadership with hands-on development and execution
- Being the strong sparring partner across digital platforms to drive adoption of agentic software development and the beacon to all Software Developers while leading the Community of Practice
- Transforming, influencing and communicating the software development roadmap, strategy and Enterprise Coding Guidelines through the Community of Practice
- Driving the building of specific platform components such as APIs, MCP Servers or AI Skills/ Agents.
- Exploring alternative/ innovative technology used to deliver prioritized requirements
To succeed in the role, you:
- Have deep expertise in either Python, TypeScript or .NET and can easily pivot across all three languages while understanding the requirements of an enterprise-grade system architecture
- Develop and drive agentic software architecture processes ensuring optimization and quality excellence
- Possess a strong foundational understanding of the key building blocks of agentic systems including model selection, context management, guardrails, and core architectural components
- Drive cross organizational orchestration of agentic software development through the Community of Practice
- Demonstrate strong leadership potential by driving change, developing teams, and fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture.

Position salary range:
For this role, the base pay will be determined according to the relevant pay structure for the location where the position is filled. Actual pay will be based on skills, experience, and the expected role fulfilment to ensure a fair and competitive offer. Where applicable, you may also be eligible for variable payment and a comprehensive benefits package. Pay details specific to your location will be provided during the interview process.
