Since 2011, LCE has developed over 1,800 megawatts of renewable power projects in California, New Jersey, and Texas. Lincoln Clean Energy (LCE), a North American leading developer of wind and solar energy projects, will start building its first project under new Ørsted ownership – the Locket Wind project in Texas. The wind farm will be LCE’s fourth onshore wind farm in operation after Amazon Windfarm, Willow Springs Wind and Tahoka. The latter is expected to be fully operational by late 2018.

Ole Kjems, Executive Vice President, Ørsted Onshore, says: “We’re very pleased that our onshore wind portfolio is growing. Today, LCE has two wind farms in operation, a third that’s nearing completion, and with Lockett Wind, our portfolio will reach about 1,000MW in 2019.”

Lockett Wind has a capacity of 184 megawatt. The project will expectedly reach commercial operations in the second half of 2019 and will generate over 750,000 megawatt-hours of renewable energy per year, or enough to power the equivalent of 72,000 U.S. homes.

LCE was acquired in October by Denmark-based Ørsted.
