Local energiser will win a prize of DKK 75,000

These days, candidates from all over Denmark are being nominated for the Energiser of the Year award; an honour which is accompanied by a prize of DKK 75,000. Nominated candidates from Zealand currently outnumber the rest of Denmark, but this may still change. The deadline is 19 November.

These days, candidates from all over Denmark are being nominated for the Energiser of the Year award; an honour which is accompanied by a prize of DKK 75,000. Nominated candidates from Zealand currently outnumber the rest of Denmark, but this may still change. The deadline is 19 November.

Every day, volunteers in local sports associations and sports clubs make an effort to inflate balls, coach teams, arrange tournaments and organise transportation for matches.

Together with the Sports Confederation of Denmark we wish to pay tribute to the volunteers who perform this hugely important work – which local association activities are so dependent on – in local sports associations all over Denmark. And just now, volunteers from all over Denmark are being nominated for the Energiser of the Year award.

"With this award, we want to emphasise the great efforts made by thousands of volunteers in Danish sports clubs and associations. An unselfish effort of crucial importance to local association activities," says Hanne Blume, our Chief HR Officer, who is part of the panel deciding who'll receive the award.

Deadline on 19 November

A lot of volunteers have been nominated since the registration opened on 6 November. It's not too late to nominate a volunteer. The nomination period for the Energiser of the Year award runs until 19 November 2017, and nominating takes place at orsted.com/energibundt (only in Danish).

The Energiser of the Year award will be presented at the large sports show 'Sport 2017' held by the Danish national TV channel 'DR' on 6 January 2018 in Boxen in Herning. The winner of the award can look forward to a prize of DKK 75,000, and the first and second runner-ups will each receive DKK 10,000.
