Rating agencies

Ørsted is regularly assessed by rating agencies on our environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance. These ratings are used by investors as part of their investment decisions. We are pleased to be rated among the best performing energy companies on ESG.

 

Ranked no. 4
Global 100 is an index of the 100 most sustainable corporations in the world.  Ørsted ranks as the most sustainable energy company in the world and 4th most sustainable company overall in the Global 100 index, which analyses 7,500 companies with billion-dollar revenues. 

 

Score AAA
MSCI is a research-based ratings agency specialising in ESG ratings. Ørsted has the highest possible rating, AAA, which is awarded to firms with the best ability to manage industry-specific risks relative to their peers.

 

Score B
CDP is a global disclosure system for investors, companies, cities, states and regions to manage environmental impacts. We improved our C rating from 2017 to a B on a scale from D- to A. Our CDP report is publicly available, and we aim to achieve A rating.

SustainAlytics is a global leader in research and ratings, specifically measuring companies’ exposure to ESG risks and how well they manage them on a scale from 1-100. Ørsted is rated as ‘Leader’, placed in the 97th percentile among 188 utilities and no. 1 among direct peers.

GRESB assesses the sustainability performance of real estate and infrastructure assets worldwide, measured through ESG ratings. In 2018, Ørsted was named no. 1 ‘Sector Leader’ in Diversified Infrastructure with highest possible 5-star rating.

ISS ESG provides corporate and country ESG research and ratings. Ørsted has been ranked in the top 3 of 104 electric utilities and was awarded ‘Prime’ status.

 

Selected for index
The FTSE4Good Index Series measures the performance of companies demonstrating strong ESG practices. Ørsted has satisfied the requirements to become a constituent of the FTSE4Good Index Series.

 

Selected for index
The Ethibel Sustainability Index Excellence Europe contains 200 shares of European companies included in the Russell Global Index that display the best CSR performance. Ørsted is selected as a constituent of the index.

 

 

Euronext Vigeo Eiris indices are composed of the highest-ranking listed companies according to their ESG performance. Ratings are weighted and measure company performance against a set of risks. Ørsted has been selected for the ‘Europe 120’ index which places us among the 120 most sustainable companies in Europe.
  EcoVadis is a global collaborative platform providing sustainability ratings for procurers. Ørsted has been awarded a gold medal as a recognition of being among the top 5% performers evaluated by EcoVadis.
  Ørsted has received the Nasdaq ESG Transparency Partner badge for our participation in Nasdaq’s ESG Data Portal. The database provides standardised, objective and quantifiable ESG and financial performance data to support sustainable investments across the Nordic markets.
