Europe’s future competitiveness and security depend on an affordable, secure, clean energy system – with offshore wind as the cornerstone. But the industry is facing unprecedented headwinds, risking stagnation unless urgent action is taken.
This report proposes a joint commitment for offshore wind, which, if implemented, will enable offshore wind to provide affordable, renewable energy at scale, lowering costs for industries and consumers, creating and protecting hundreds of thousands of jobs, saving around EUR 70 billion on fossil fuel imports, and reducing carbon emissions by about 15 %.
