This paper comes at a defining moment for Ørsted. By the end of 2025, we became the first energy company in the world to fully decarbonise our own energy generation. Renewable energy now accounts for 99% of our production, and our scope 1 and 2 emissions intensity have fallen by more than 98% since 2006 – achieved while growing our operating profit year on year. We now turn to the next frontier: achieving net-zero across our value chain by 2040. Offshore wind already delivers electricity with up to 99% lower emissions than coal, but many of the materials and processes behind it remain fossil based. We're focusing on our three biggest hotspots: steel, maritime fuels, and copper. We share this paper with candour. Value chain decarbonisation is complex, progress is uneven, and no company can achieve it alone. By setting out our net-zero roadmap in practice – the decisions we're making, the low-emission solutions we're developing, and how we're engaging our suppliers – we hope to catalyse the wider industry to move further, faster with real solutions to climate change and energy insecurity.
