DONG Energy and HNG Midt-Nord Salg sign 3-year agreement
DONG Energy and HNG Midt-Nord Salg have today signed a 3-year agreement on natural gas supplies effective from 1 January 2007.
In December 2005 the companies agreed to adjust the current agreement on natural gas supplies following the expression of concern by the Danish Competition Authority in relation to DONG Energy's status as sole supplier.
The new agreement with DONG Energy comprises approx. 60% of HNG Midt-Nord Salg's current
natural gas sales, while the company's remaining gas needs will be covered by new suppliers.
HNG Midt-Nord Salg today has 235,000 natural gas customers, equivalent to just under 2/3 of the Danish natural gas consumers, and sells approx. 800 million m3 of natural gas per year. "This new agreement is a continuation of our positive collaboration with DONG Energy. It is our mission to ensure natural gas consumers the most attractive natural gas prices and terms, and we expect this agreement to mean that the small natural gas customers, too, will see benefits from the increased competition in the natural gas market in Europe," says Ole Albæk Pedersen, Managing Director of HNG Midt-Nord Salg. "We are pleased to have achieved an agreement, in competition with other suppliers, on natural gas supplies to HNG Midt-Nord Salg for the coming three years, and we look forward to continued good collaboration with an important customer in Denmark," says Kurt Bligaard Pedersen, Executive Vice President of DONG Energy.
