Senior Market Analyst

Join us in this role where you’ll support the revenue desk, strategic portfolio and other key stakeholders by providing deep insights, predictions, and prescriptions on power market prices using our internal fundamental model. You will work closely with analysts, traders, model developers, revenue managers and originators. Your work will leverage Domain Knowledge, Python, SQL, Excel and our JupyterHub environment to deliver high-impact analytics and recommendations.

You’ll be part of Price Forecasting & Analysis team where you, together with your colleagues, will support European Trading, the Strategic Portfolio and key stakeholders across Trading & Revenue. Our team consists of dedicated desk analysts and model developers with diverse backgrounds in power market analysis, business, engineering and mathematical optimization. As a team, we value flexibility, experimentation, and knowledge sharing, working in virtual teams with experienced analysts, traders, model developers, revenue managers and originators. You’ll play an important role in:
- performing fundamental analysis of power market prices using internal fundamental model
- delivering quantitative power price analysis, insights, and actionable recommendations
- providing predictions and prescriptions to support trading and portfolio strategies
- using Python, SQL and Excel for data analysis, modelling, and reporting
- leveraging JupyterHub for collaborative analytics and sharing results
- collaborating with analysts, traders, model developers, revenue managers and originators to drive continuous improvement of processes and tools.
To succeed in the role, you:
- have a background in data science, economics, engineering, or a related field, with strong knowledge of power markets and fundamental modelling
- are experienced in time-series analysis, forecasting methods, and data visualisation
- are proficient in Python, SQL and Excel, and comfortable working with Jupyter Notebooks
- enjoy working with data, models, business intelligence and analytics
- demonstrate strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within respectful and supportive team
- embrace continuous improvement, foster innovation, and actively share knowledge - driven by the challenges and opportunities in energy trading and risk management.
