Become a supplier for Ørsted

Ørsted’s suppliers are vital to our success as a global leader in sustainable energy. We value long-term relationships with suppliers, and we’re always looking for new vendors to help us deliver projects in new markets across our global portfolio.

You’ll find opportunities throughout our supply chain, both directly with Ørsted and with our range of Tier 1 suppliers, which are multi-contracted to deliver onshore and offshore wind farms and other energy infrastructure projects.

I want to register as a supplier

The first step is to register on the Ørsted Procurement Portal. That way, we can get in touch when looking for new suppliers for goods and services. We also use the Ørsted Procurement Portal when running tenders, which means your organisation must be registered if you want to participate:

Depending on the type of tender, you should follow one of these two simple processes:

Not subject to EU Utility Directive

Express your interest to participate in an open tender and/or receive an invitation to participate. We only consider suppliers registered on the Ørsted Procurement Portal. This is also where you can find a list of open tenders.

Submit an application using our online tool, which ensures fair treatment. If you are invited or accepted to participate, you will receive instructions for using the tool.

Final round price negotiations may take place via an e-auction. If this happens, you are given the opportunity to train and prepare beforehand.

Ørsted selects a supplier and awards the contract.

Tenders subject to EU Utility Directive (Directive 2014/25/EU)

Find the tender and pre-qualification requirements. We give notice of upcoming tender procedures in the Official Journal of the European Union. You can also find open tenders here.

Register in the Achilles Utilities NCE qualification system if the tender relates to an offshore wind project. You need to be registered on the Ørsted Procurement Portal too.

Contact Ørsted to apply for pre-qualification. You will only be pre-qualified if you meet the minimum requirements. In some cases, there is a limit to the number of applicants that can be pre-qualified.

Receive an invitation to take part in contract negotiations, if you have been pre-qualified.

Final round price negotiations may take place via an e-auction. If this happens, you are given the opportunity to train and prepare beforehand.

Ørsted awards the contract based on the most economically advantageous tender, according to weighted criteria which often include both price and quality. Ørsted publishes notice of awarded contracts in the Official Journal of the European Union.

What do I need to do to be a sustainable supplier?

As a company committed to building a more sustainable world, we expect all our suppliers to live up to certain social, environmental and ethical standards, as outlined in our Code of Conduct for Business Partners.

Our Responsible Business Partner Programme integrates the Code of Conduct into our global procurement process. Through the Programme, we evaluate how well our vendors adhere to the Code, and work with you to support real progress and continuous improvement in social, environmental and ethical performance.

Ørsted expects its suppliers to transition to 100% renewable electricity

We expect all our suppliers to run on 100% renewable electricity by 2025 at the latest – as communicated in our press release of 10 August 2022. To help our suppliers make this transition, we’ve developed a set of guiding principles.

Our aim is to have net-zero emissions across our entire value chain by 2040. Our success in reaching this target depends on collaboration across the supply chain. We encourage all industry participants to do their part to drive decarbonisation in the renewable energy sector.

Frequently asked questions

What happens after I’ve registered to become a supplier?

When you register on the Ørsted Procurement Portal, you create a profile for your organisation. This profile is visible to Ørsted, letting us find suitable suppliers to invite to tenders. Please note, this is not a guarantee that you will be invited for any tenders, awarded any work or contacted by Ørsted. You’ll receive login details to access and edit your profile, and apply to open tenders . It’s important to keep your profile up to date.
I’m having problems registering on the Procurement Portal. Where can I find help?

The Portal is hosted by an external provider called Jaggaer. You can find detailed instructions for registering as a supplier both in a PDF guide and as a video guide. If you’re having technical problems, contact Jaggaer Technical Support.
Can I be put in contact with a specific person or department at Ørsted?

You can see and apply to open tenders from every area of our business on the Procurement Portal, so there’s no need to contact a specific department or person. Meanwhile, as long as your organisation is registered on the Portal, all Ørsted departments looking for suppliers will be able to find your profile and contact you if necessary.
How do I know whether or not a tender is subject to EU Utility Directive (Directive 2014/25/EU)?

If a tender is subject to the Directive, this will be clearly stated in the description of the tender listed in open Tenders. If this is not stated, the tender is not subject to the Directive.
