Denmark's Leader of the Year works at DONG Energy

A leader from DONG Energy is the first recipient of Djøf's, the Danish trade union for lawyers and economists, newly established Leader Award.
More than 100 leaders were in play for a newly established Danish leadership award. After a finishing race with a total of three finalists, the choice fell on Louise Hahn, Senior Vice President in Distribution & Customer Solutions and head of our B2C business.

When asked about the reason for this choice, Henrik Funder, Chairman of 'Djøf Privat' and the jury, says that Louise is passionate about her customers and that she combines her profound business insight with a strong sense of empathy.

About Leader of the Year

The Danish association Djøf is a trade union for lawyers, economists and law students as well as graduates and students within the fields of business economics and social sciences.

With the new leader award, the organisation aims to highlight the most important leadership qualities in the private sector.

Louise Hahn is head of an organisation employing approximately 300 people, who work with branding, sales, customer service and operation for DONG Energy's Danish residential customers. The organisation has a total revenue of DKK 1.5 billion.
Henrik Funder continues: "It's made her a strong voice for change at DONG Energy. She's a giving and inspiring leader who prioritises results and job satisfaction equally. She shows her employees great trust, while at the same time maintaining close dialogue where challenges are discussed and solutions are planned in an open forum. Louise places great emphasis on openness and transparency in the dialogue with her employees, and everyone's expected to contribute and be active."

What makes a good leader?

To the question of what it takes to be a good leader, Louise Hahn says: "I go by three key leadership values, when I make decisions: We must do what's right for the business, then it's about working together to achieve the best results for the organisation and lastly, we help the individual employee to deal with change.”

She continues: "It's OK to challenge the limits in the competition for customers, but it's not OK to cross them. This is, for instance, important for me in connection with our marketing. Finally, I want to 'get my hands dirty'. I want to be involved in the processes, to talk with our customers on a regular basis and to constantly get around to all layers of my organisation."
