Technical Site Support - Electrical Engineer

Join us in this role where you’ll work within the Technical Site Support team utilising technical expertise and engineering methods to increase reliability of fleet assets, thus reducing plant downtime. You’ll be working with a wide variety of electrical systems, analysing processes, and making improvements, as well as gaining experience in other systems which are critical for wind farm operations. As part of the Technical Site Support team, you’ll be raising the standards for Electrical Transmission systems and will be given significant opportunities to expand your knowledge in the area.

Welcome to East Coast Hub Operations
You’ll be part of Technical Site Support where you, together with your colleagues, will work together to solve complex and basic engineering problems experienced by the portfolio of assets under operation. Your job will be to provide practical and efficient solutions to these problems using the tools available. You’ll liaise with multiple functions across the business to maintain effective processes and communication across multiple sites and work regions with a focus on Electrical Systems. As a team, we collaborate with our regional and global colleagues and embrace personal development and learning. We work as a team to solve engineering problems and improve asset reliability.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • driving operational excellence through optimisation and management of our electrical systems that provide a crucial role to our generation portfolio
  • supporting the organisation in implementing new equipment and complex functionality, often in collaboration with external suppliers and our global fleet
  • producing criticality analysis reports and problem solving to include QHSE and compliance and implement additional controls to reduce site risks
  • reviewing system processes and optimising control systems
  • maintaining the integrity of electrical systems on site and liaising with global functions
  • supporting multiple sites and projects within the organisation as the regional electrical subject matter expert ensuring effective processes and procedures are executed within the region.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have a passion for electrical safety and maintaining the integrity of assets within region
  • have an electrical engineering degree and demonstrate strong HV and LV turbine and transmission system knowledge
  • are competent in analysing electrical systems and problem solving, incl. use of RCA tools
  • possess good communication skills that allow you to achieve results in teams with many stakeholders and enjoy working on complex, challenging, and often ambiguous tasks
  • have a demonstrated history of mentoring and coaching others, as well as of sharing knowledge with non-technical audiences.
