Northeast Marine Affairs Manager

Join us in this role where you’ll become the Northeast Marine Affairs Manager creating, securing approval of, and executing engagement plans for key stakeholder groups. This strategic goal setting will include clear objectives, desired outcomes, and measures of success as well as an inventory of risks and proposed mitigation strategies. Plans will be coordinated with project specific development, engineering, construction, and operation plans.

You’ll be part of Marine Affairs where you, together with your colleagues, will report to the Head of Marine Affairs, U.S., and will work with important maritime stakeholders including but not limited to: The United States Coast Guard (USCG); The United States Department of Defense (DoD); Other federal and state regulatory agencies and non-government organizations (NGOs); The commercial shipping and the fishing industries; Recreational boaters and fishers.

You’ll play an important role in:

  • liaising with the USCG, DoD, commercial shipping, recreational boating, and fishing (commercial and recreational) during offshore wind project development, construction, and operations
  • attending and frequently making presentations at meetings, conferences, and public events associated with marine affairs and report back to the department and others within the organization
  • ensuring stakeholder feedback and concerns are captured, documented, and addressed
  • executing supervisory, management, and budgetary responsibilities normally associated with a management level position.

To succeed in the role, you:

  • have, as a minimum, a bachelor’s degree within a relevant field, e.g., marine affairs, admiralty law, or other maritime disciplines
  • have in-depth knowledge of U.S. maritime regulations and policies, as well as relationships with decision-makers, policymakers, and state and federal authorities
  • are willing and capable of working as part of a team with a diverse background
  • are a trustworthy and impactful communicator with the ability to maintain detailed dialogue, as well as the ability to effectively address large groups, and possess analytic writing skills
  • have a maritime background, e.g., U.S. Coast Guard, Navy, NOAA Corps, or marine operations experience
  • have a proactive and systematic approach to your work tasks, can lead and align across various fields of expertise and master the Microsoft Office suite.
